| The mission of the Fort Des Moines Museum
and Education Center is to preserve, promote, and perpetuate
the heritage of service, sacrifice, and risk taken by
the Black officers of World War I and the women of World
War II through exhibits, educational programming, and
public use of the facility.
Fort Des Moines Museum and Education Center honors
the heroes who brought gender and racial equality to
the United States Army during World War I and World
War II.
This landmark is a:
· National attraction with artifacts, exhibits,
archival photographs and period art.
· Resource center for students and educators.
· Historical site for conferences, meetings and
celebrations.
