| WAC Commissioned – Sept. 2 –
When Lt. Adele L. Farenzena was commissioned a Second
Lieutenant in the Women's Army Corps on September 2nd
at First WAC Training Center, Fort Des Moines, Ia., her
brother, Corporal Louis Farenzena, enjoyed the honor of
pinning on her gold bars. The daughter of Mrs. Mary Farenzena,
Pointer's Run Road, Beadling, Pa., Lt. Farenzena has two
more brothers in the Service. Private First Class John
Farenzena, now in Sicily, was with the Combat Engineers
in North Africa. Sergeant Vincent Farenzena, a gunner
with the Eighth Air Force in England, was wounded in action
over Europe in January and was awarded the Purple Heart. |
